Software Libraries
NoNags www.nonags.com
The name says it all, NO NAGS. All the software on this site is Windows Freeware. There's no shareware or demoware here to nag you to buy. One thing I've noticed is quite a few of the programs on this site are small and fast. You won't find that very often in the bloated shareware that's available.

TinyApps.org www.tinyapps.org
My favorite kind of programs are the small ones. This site is full of small little standalone utilities.

MajorGeeks.com www.majorgeeks.com
Not just another repository for programs. "Chicks just love a Geek in Uniform"

Tech Sites
Gibson Research Corporation www.grc.com
Gibson Reasearch Corporation is the site to visit for security and innovation. The GRC's claim to fame is Shields Up, a web based network security checker. Shields Up will probe your computer and alert you to security problems. After you know what's wrong Steve will even explain how to fix the problem. Another nice offering at GRC is Opt Out. This handy program will scan your computer for AdWare, some of which Steve calls Spyware. AdWare is software that's free but displays advertising while you use it. Opt Out searches for AdWare that has been seen as a privacy violator. Definitely check this site out.

PC Pitstop www.pcpitstop.com
PC Pitstop can scan your computer and software and then make suggestions on improving your machine's performance and security. This site also offers web based virus scanning. All of this for the low low price of nothing.

Practically Networked www.practicallynetworked.com
This is the best resource I've found for basic networking information. Practically Networked concentrates mostly on home and small business networking. They spend a great deal of time looking at affordable network hardware and software solutions.

Slashdot www.slashdot.org
News for Nerds. Stuff That matters. They keep their readers up to speed on tech happenings and draw attention to stories that interest techies. They also have discussion groups with message rating so you can filter out the stuff that's not worth reading.

Trend Micro's Free Antivirus Scanner housecall.antivirus.com
With all the viruses and trojan horses floating around the internet these days it's very important to scan your computer on a regular basis. What's the best way to do that? For FREE. Trend Micro offers free virus scanning over the internet so you don't have to pay and you don't need to install any software.

Windows Registry Guide www.regedit.com
The Windows Registry Guide is the place to go for extremely advanced registry tweaks. Whenever I want to find out if something can be done I check regedit.com first.

If you want understandable examples of ASP scripts you'll find them here.

DevGuru www.devguru.com
