| Gibson Reasearch Corporation is the site to visit for security and innovation. The GRC's claim to fame is Shields Up, a web based network security checker. Shields Up will probe your computer and alert you to security problems. After you know what's wrong Steve will even explain how to fix the problem. Another nice offering at GRC is Opt Out. This handy program will scan your computer for AdWare, some of which Steve calls Spyware. AdWare is software that's free but displays advertising while you use it. Opt Out searches for AdWare that has been seen as a privacy violator. Definitely check this site out. |
